Self-Compassion:
From Self-Awareness to Self-Trust
A six-week experiential group for cultivating a kinder, more compassionate relationship with yourself.
Led by Kelly Gant, LPCC, E-RYT
What if the voice you use with yourself during difficult moments could become less critical, more supportive, and more compassionate?
Self-compassion isn’t about letting yourself off the hook, ignoring difficult emotions, or forcing yourself to think positively. It is about learning to meet yourself differently when life is hard — with awareness, kindness, courage, and a recognition that struggle is part of being human. Over six weeks, we’ll explore the foundations of self-compassion and develop practical ways to bring compassion into your mind, body, relationships, and everyday life.
Each week builds on the previous one, creating a gradual journey from understanding self-compassion to experiencing and practicing it for yourself.
What we'll explore:
Mindfulness & The Foundations of Self-Compassion: Learn what self-compassion is and how it differs from self-judgment, self-pity, and positive thinking.
Radical Acceptance, Resistance & Compassionate Presence: What happens when we stop fighting against what is already here?
Compassion in the Body: Self-compassion isn’t only something we think about—it can become something we experience in the body.
The Inner Critic & Fierce Self-Compassion: What if your inner critic isn’t the whole truth about you? We’ll explore how compassion can help us care for ourselves without abandoning our values or responsibility.
From Shame to Self-Acceptance: We’ll explore how to recognize shame, separate pain from the stories we attach to it, and reconnect with common humanity.
Taking in the Good & Your Compassion Practice: How do we carry self-compassion beyond the group? We’ll finish week six by creating a personal Compassion Toolkit you can take with you.

Meet Your Group Facilitator, Kelly
Hi, I'm Kelly! I have dedicated the past 20 years to helping people understand and befriend their bodies — first on the yoga mat with professional athletes, veterans, and people living with PTSD or chronic pain, and now as a somatic and EMDR therapist at Centerpoint Healing.
I love making neuroscience approachable and fun; my goal is for people to leave my groups and workshops with things they actually remember and can use in “real” life.
I have an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Naropa University, with a concentration in Mindfulness-Based Transpersonal Counseling.
Events offered are educational in nature, not therapy, and do not establish a therapeutic relationship with Centerpoint Healing, PLLC, or its facilitators.
